Experimental Jetset

Experimental Jetset was first formed in 1997 by Erwin Brinkers, Marieke Stolk and Danny van Dungen, who met while studying at the Gerrit Rietveld Academy. Based in Amsterdam, they have produced work in the fashion, music and publishing sectors. Much of their work is purely text based and can be described as minimalist/conceptual. Some of their first commissions were for local bands and music venues but they quickly gained international acclaim, with recent clients including Droog, Collette and the Pompidou Center.

They are known for their almost exclusive use of the font Helvetica, and even designed the Blu-ray cover and various posters for the Helvetica documentary (as well as appearing in the film itself).

Their most widely recognized work is probably the 'John & Paul & Ringo & George' shirt, which was released in 2001. The style later went on to be copied/parodied by hundreds of others (some examples can be seen on their website).

An example of their text-based poster design.
