Trust, Elvis Costello

The sketches show the initial intention to use bright and vibrant colours before the original title was changed from 'Cats&Dogs' to 'Trust'. That is why the finished image of the cassette cover is so different in the end. I like the thoughtful use of the primary colours. They are put together in a proper proportion. And the strong and constrast colours are burning my eyes.

The Future Now

The black and white record cover for Peter Hammill. The presentation is interesting in a way that the singer's beard was cut half. And the cover also shows each half of his face as well as his whole face in the end. I think the way of using black and white photography makes the overall work unforgettable and timeless. And I would be really happy to collect this record for my own.

Cycledelic Poster

The poster has grabbed my attention when I first saw it. The overall image doesn't look inappropriate. Barney Bubbles combined two different photographs of the arms and Johnny Moped's face nicely together.

Music For Pleasure

The inner sleeve of The Damned for the album, Music For Pleasure.
It does not take much time to realize that the cover was inspired by Wassily Kandinsky's music abstract art. I also feel the fun and happiness through the portraits of band members.

Your Generation Record Sleeve

The record sleeve 'Your Generation' single of Generation X. I like the deconstruction of two numbers: 4 and 5. From the way I see it, Barney Bubbles was thinking about putting musical related elements together such as the curve of number five which may be seen as a record being pulled out of the cover. And the part where the names of band members are placed which looks so much like the neck of a guitar. There are many ideas in this piece.
